Who we are

What we do

BE SciComm is a community of science communicators, bringing together researchers, journalists, press officers, communication officers, policy makers, designers, event organizers, students, and anyone interested in science communication.

Our mission is to foster collaboration and communication between science communicators, to foster the dissemination of scientific knowledge to the public, and to contribute to the development of future science communicators.

We facilitate networking in our local science communication community and focus on education, research and practice. Our yearly conference is an excellent opportunity for all actors in the science communication field to come together and exchange ideas and experiences. We also publish a biannual magazine, Big Bang and plan to organize more events in the future.

As of spring 2024, we are a registered nonprofit in Belgium.

Our team

We are a grassroots organization of volunteers with a shared passion for science communication. If you are interested in getting actively involved or if you have ideas or suggestions for us, don't hesitate to reach out.
